    Memorial Presbyterian   Church

"Where college students are welcome in the Name of Christ!"

Memorial Presbyterian Church is a friendly group of Christian people seeking to find God's will in our individual lives and in our life together and offers the advantages of a small church close to campus.

It is all but impossible to visit Memorial and not feel welcomed.

We become very much a home away from home... or better, a family away from family...for many students.

You may be saying, " O.K., So here I am.  A college student. I show up at Memorial. What goes on there for college students?"

Worship If you come to Memorial wanting only to worship on Sunday morning, we honor that decision.

Participation  Some students may be surprised to find out that they are more than welcome to help in various areas of our ministry such as:

WORSHIP TEAM that meets monthly to plan the next month's worship services would welcome you.

WORSHIP LEADER  each week, several laypersons read scriptures, make announcements and lead prayers. If you are interested in leading worship, we would be happy to have your help.

CHURCH SCHOOL meets each Sunday at 9:30 am. You may participate as a student of as an assistant. We have a history of having college students help in our Sunday school classes.

SINGING AND RINGING Memorial has bell and vocal choirs for all people of all ages.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT DINNERS  we have dinner at 5:45 each Wednesday and college students eat free with their school ID. August thru May.

YOUTH GROUP ADVISORS our youth group, called Youth In Mission, is always strengthened by the presence of college age leaders. If you have interests call us yesterday at 329-3640.

HELPING OTHERS  Memorial is very much a mission church, active in various outreach programs.  If mission is your bag, then there is a spot for you.

SPIRITUAL MENTORING  Memorial's pastor Jim Burns   (who started off as a college physics professor), has completed a two year certification process in spiritual direction and has helped numerous young adults in discerning God's direction for their life. Jim's door is truly always open and he would be delighted to assist you if he can.
