Memorial Presbyterian Church is excited to host National Night Out for our neighborhood on October 1. National Night Out is an annual event designed to strengthen our communities by encouraging neighborhoods to engage in stronger relationships with each other and with their local law enforcement partners. The goal is to heighten crime-prevention awareness, build support and participation in local anti-crime programs, and most importantly, send a message that our neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. It’s also the perfect opportunity to get to know your neighbors even better. For more information go to nationalnightout.org.
This event will be held on Tuesday, October 1, from 5:45 to 7:15 p.m. We will provide games for children, a welcome table, ice cream floats and cookies and pop corn. The fire and police departments will be present to talk to people about community awareness.
Church members: As a hosting site, we as a church will need volunteers to work the welcome table and food and drink station, and oversee the children’s games. Also, we will need volunteers to help distribute flyers within the neighborhood community. To help, speak with John Beck (Mission and Evangelism committee) or Lisa Upton (chair of Fellowship and Hospitality committee).
Mark your calendars for this great event and please volunteer if you are able and willing.
