Mission Statement of Memorial Presbyterian Church

We are a servant people called to be the light of the world.  We come together as members of one body to worship, study, fellowship, witness and serve.  In response to God’s love in Jesus Christ, we promise to care for and support each other as we share God’s love with all people.

What does it mean to be Presbyterian?

• We believe that God creates, redeems and sustains us all and that God wants each of us to participate in bringing justice, peace, and love to flower in the world.

• We believe that God has been made known through Jesus the Christ and that God lives among us on the earth through God’s Holy Spirit

• We believe that God sends everyone to work toward the healing of the world, so we go from worship to meet God in our life outside the church doors.

• We believe that the Bible is God’s living word to us, our rule for faith.

• We welcome men and women, people of all ages to lead in worship, mission, and study.

• We celebrate the Sacraments of Baptism and Communion. Our Communion table is open to all who trust in God’s grace.

• We balance church leadership between clergy and laypersons and elect our leadership.

So, welcome to Memorial Presbyterian Church. We’re glad you came!
