We will enjoy a movie night in Fellowship Hall on Sunday, July 26 at 6:00 P.M. We will be showing The Good Lie, and hot dogs and popcorn will be available. This film is based on “The Lost Children of the Sudan”. The four children featured are a composite of thousands of children who were orphaned after their village was massacred in the Second Sudanese Civil War. Consequently, they made an arduous and dangerous trek through the plains, enduring hardship, death, and sacrifice until they reached safety in a refugee camp in Ethiopia. Years later, these youths were among 3600 selected for resettlement in the United States. These young people had to adjust to an alien culture, as they dealt with their brutal past, as well as their future in a new country. Bring yourself, family members, friends and neighbors for fun, fellowship and discussion of the film.
