On Sunday evening, August 25, Memorial Presbyterian Church will have a night at the movies. The film is The Butler, which is being released locally on 8/16. It is based on the real-life account of Eugene Allen, who was an eyewitness to notable civil right events in the 20th century during his 34 year tenure serving as a White House butler. During 8 presidential terms from 1952-1986 he was a part of the political and social turmoil of the period. The cast stars Forest Whitaker, Oprah Winfrey and an ensemble of many well known actors. This movie has received much positive criticism, and should be a wonderful experience.
We will attend the 6:45 pm showing at the Warren Theater in Moore, OK – meet in the lobby at 6:30. Â Afterwards, join us for conversation and frozen custard at Freddy’s, nearby.
