The Kids Count Profile, recently issued by the Annie E. Casey Foundation, highlights the status and issues for children in the United States. The report stated that Oklahoma ranks 39th in the nation in the overall well-being of our children. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Children’s Bureau confirms reports of child abuse have increased 60.6% from 2010 to 2013.
This forum will deal with many of the issues brought out by the report.

The panel will address the reality of child abuse in our state, short and long term consequences of child abuse, existing interventions, needs for the future, and prevention. Panel members include representatives from CCFI, Inc., Bethesda, Inc., Mary Abbott House, Oklahoma Institute For Child Advocacy, and law enforcement. Questions from the audience will be encouraged.

Please share this event with anyone who would have interest in this vital topic affecting the children of our state.
